Management

Management is the process by which individuals guide and direct an organisation to achieve its goals and objectives.
• It involves planning – setting goals and deciding how best to achieve them.
• It includes organising – arranging people and resources to carry out the plans.
• It requires leading – motivating and guiding employees to work towards the business’s goals.
• It involves controlling – monitoring performance and making adjustments to stay on track.
Good managers combine all these tasks to ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve success.


Leadership

Leadership is the ability of an individual to inspire, influence, and motivate others to achieve the goals and objectives of the business.
• Leaders use their vision, communication skills, and personal example to encourage employees.
• They create a positive work environment that fosters trust and commitment.
• Effective leadership helps employees feel valued and aligned with the business’s mission.
While management focuses on systems and processes, leadership focuses on people and relationships, making both equally important for the success of any organisation.
